Seedy Sunday, the UK's largest community seed swap event, will return to Brighton for its 13th annual event on February 2, 2014.
Taking place at the Brighton Corn Exchange in the city centre for a second year, organisers are confident they will welcome even more than the 2500 visitors who attended this year.

The event opens at 10.30am and runs until 4.00pm and admission is £3 (or £2 concessions), while children under 16 go free.

The heart of Seedy Sunday is the seed swap table, where visitors are encouraged to swap seeds they have saved from their own garden or allotment, for the seeds of traditional vegetables, fruit and flowers they want to grow in the coming season. Some varieties are often not commercially available today, but are naturally well adapted to local growing conditions. At the Swap, experienced local growers are on hand to advise on the practicalities of seed saving and growing from seed.

Alongside the Seed Swap table will be stalls from community groups, charities and small businesses that reflect the focus of Seedy Sunday on gardening and growing, ecology, community engagement and sustainability. Infinity Café will be running a pop-up in the Corn Exchange and there will also be children's activities and cookery demonstrations from the Community Chef.

There will also be speakers at the event, looking at topics including 'how to sow a seed' for those new to gardening, bee-keeping and permaculture, and the Seedy Sunday Question Time for gardeners, when local experts will be answering all questions about growing, plants, harvests and seeds.

Chairman of Seedy Sunday, Steve Bustin, said: "The event really does cater for all these people, from beginners to experts. For many gardeners Seedy Sunday is the start of their gardening year - a chance to start thinking about what they're going to grow as winter finally turns into Spring."
