Sales managers are 'quids in'

Published: 10 August 2007
HTA’s annual salary survey offers a broad review of 2007 salaries within the nursery and garden centre sectors.
Sales managers are 'quids in'
Revealing a positive increase in pay across the board compared to results of last year's survey, the report highlighted top performers and newly rated positions.

The post of sales manager has clearly developed into a significant role within the nursery sector with an average remuneration of £26,416, according to the results of the survey. Some larger nurseries even offer salaries of £30,000 plus for this position.

HTA's results suggest that garden centre and nursery managers remain the two highest paid positions in the sector below executive level, however, the post of catering manager in larger garden centres is fast approaching similar status.

Average 2007 remunerations revealed by the report:

  • Sales manager – £26,416

  • Garden centre manager – £26,087

  • Nursery manager – £24,450

  • Office manager (nursery sector) – £20,358

  • Catering manager – £20,144

  • Office manager (garden centre) – £18,770
