Eight volunteers - including DIY Week's special projects consultant Colin Petty and his wife Nina - took part in a tandem parachute jump at the MOD's training facilities on Salisbury Plain last weekend.
The jump, from a 14,000 ft height, included a 120mph freefall descent lasting 50 seconds before parachutes were deployed. The 2012 batch of brave volunteers was made up of Henkel's Nigel Stanway, Toolbank's Steve Coombes, Hannah Griffiths of Decco, Jason Burns of Honeywell, Matt Pullen from Akzo Nobel, Michael Dark from MDA and Colin and Nina Petty from Faversham House Ltd.

More than £10,000 was raised for the Rainy Day Trust charity. RDT general secretary Diane Stevens said: "The response to the parachute jump has been incredible, with those within the home improvement industry yet again digging deep to support us with this event. A huge thank you goes to all our volunteers and everyone who supported them."
