Mica becomes partner of industry charity

Published: 27 May 2014
Following many years of association and another successful fundraising event at its March conference, Mica is to become the latest partner of industry charity the Rainy Day Trust.
Commenting on the news, Mica ceo Steve Ball said: "Mica has worked with the Rainy Day Trust for many years to raise money for those in need in our sector. Mica members agreed the time was right to make this support formal, and today we have formally recognised the trust as our preferred charity partner.

"Supporting those in the industry who have fallen on hard times is very much in line with the cooperative values of our group."

Robert Evans, owner of Nibletts Mica Hardware and Mica retailer director added: "Our store is a proud supporter of the Rainy Day Trust, and we've have had a collection box on the counter for many years. We collect a lot of money from it especially since we (in Wales) now have to levy 5p for a carrier bag. It's excellent news that Mica is now recognising the trust as its preferred charity, it's a great cause."
