Making total sensor

Published: 4 November 2008
The new Sensor Light from lamp manufacturer Megaman combines a low-energy light bulb and a built-in light-sensitive security switch meaning these exterior lights come on automatically when darkness falls.

The 15w bulb gives out the light equivalent of a traditional 60w filament bulb and is exactly the same shape and size a traditional bulb. This means the bulb can be fitted into any existing lampholder with no need to change the fitting.

Offering 10,000 hours of illumination compared with 1,000 offered by traditional alternatives, the Sensor Light also has useful security applications as it will automatically switch on and off according to light levels regardless of whether the homeowner is at home.
