Homebase ranks 99 out of 100 stores in Which? best and worst shop survey

Which? surveyed 12,504 people to expose the best and worst of UK shops, revealing Homebase to come second from last place with a customer satisfaction score of 56%.

Stores in the DIY and home improvement sector that performed well in the survey included Screwfix and Lakeland which both came in at sixth place, with scores of 79%.

Wickes ranked 33rd with a score of 70% while DIY superstore B&Q came in at 73rd with a score of 66%.

Independent electrical stores ranked 14th with a score of 75%, however independent DIY stores did not rank as well coming in at 87th with a score of 63%.

Which? executive director, Richard Lloyd, said: "We've seen time and time again that consumers won't settle for bad customer service and our high street shops survey confirms this.

"Those stores giving people the care and attention they want have happy customers who return."

Customer scores are based on satisfaction with the shop on their last visit and the likelihood of recommending it to a friend.

Cosmetics retailer Lush topped the list with a score of 83%, while WH Smith came bottom of the list with a score of 55%.

Talking of brands....shame on Jewson, plundering rain forests! According to the Greenpeace website Jewson sell decking made of IPE, a rare tree found in the Braziian rain forest(source www. greenpeace) Profit first no matter what the consequences, simply disgusting!

Hi I have found two items on line and I rang our local homebase and was told they or any other homebase in the uk have these items. I decided to then order them on line to be advised they are not available!!!!
Homebase continue to send discount coupons which are useless as I cannot use them.
