Get ready to walk for charity

Published: 1 February 2016
Members of the industry are being urged to get involved with this year's Greenfingers Garden Re-Leaf Day walk.
Get ready to walk for charity
Last year's event raised over £9,000 for the Greenfingers charity, which builds gardens for children's hospices, drawing participants from trade organisations and suppliers, along with journalists and others in the garden industry, including the walk's founder, i2i's Matthew Mein.

This year, the walk covers approximately 20 miles, starting and finishing at the Horticultural Trades Association's offices in Theale, West Berkshire. Taking place on Garden Re-Leaf Day, March 18, the event is just one of many taking place in aid of Greenfingers.

Greenfingers head of fundraising Linda Petrons said: "The walk is open to absolutely everyone working in or alongside the garden industry. Not only is it a great opportunity to raise funds for those not already involved in Garden Re-Leaf Day events, it's fun, team building and a great way to spend time with colleagues and acquaintances away from the office."

So far, Matthew Mein and colleagues from i2i, Garden Industry Manufacturers Association director Vicky Nuttall, Kimberley Hornby and Robbie Cumming from Hornby Whitefoot PR have all signed up to take part in the challenge.
