Neil Grant of Ferndale Garden Centre and Graham Spencer of Plants for Europe are the latest speakers to join the line-up for a free Horticultural Trades Association (HTA)/Ball Colegrave workshop event.
Called Plant Retailing, Fit for the Future, it will take place during the Ball Colegrave 2015 Summer Showcase, and looks at the future of plant retailing.
Mr Grant will talk about some of the challenges faced in selling plants in a retail environment, while Mr Spencer will look at plants that growers and retailers might need to be offering to be 'fit for the future'.
Other speakers include David Denny, HTA, and Boyd Douglas-Davies of Hillview Garden Centres, who will explore how customers shop in the plant area using the latest Eyetracker research.
Andy Bunker of Alton Garden Centre will present a case study on his experience of running a plant area and how to attract the customer's eye, whilst Kevin Waters will provide expert merchandising tips.
The event is on Tuesday, July 14, 10.30am-3pm at Ball Colegrave, West Adderbury, Oxfordshire, followed by an opportunity to visit the Ball Colegrave Summer Showcase 2015, which features new plant varieties and innovative retail ideas.
