DIY shop closes after precisely a quarter of a century

Published: 1 April 2009
North Wales-based Dee Jays has shut its doors 25 years to the day since is first stated trading.
The chain which accrording to the BBC employed nine staff and 12 sub-contractors closed earlier this week with all staff now looking for new employment.

Managing director Neale Lewis-Jones blamed the economy saying he had 'no other option' but to close the business.

He added: "We were in negotiations with our landlords for a new lease, but with a noticeable decline in our retail sales together with the need to secure additional funding from the financial institutions, we felt we had no option but to close the doors."

He added he was devastated by the news and would miss his staff and customers.
