Current president takes position vacated by former ceo, Allen Johnson.
Following the examination of internal and external candidates, David French currently president of the British Home Enhancement Trade Association (BHETA) has been named chief executive officer from January 1, 2008.

He takes over the role vacated by previous ceo, Allen Johnson, who left in December 2006.

On accepting the position, which enjoyed a unanimous vote from the board, David French, said: "We have made tremendous progress in the past year and fundamentally restructured the Association to better provide for members' interests in terms of the quality of service, support and representation they receive.

"I am delighted to be able to stay involved in the process of realising the Association's enormous potential."

Mr French's move to ceo is in tandem with a second change, which sees current treasurer, and managing director of Isaac Lord, Andrew Weiss, taking on the role of president-elect from January 2008.

This role will be ratified at the Association's agm on May 15, 2008.

"The quality and experience of the Association's board is superb and I am confident we will move forward effectively," the current president added.
