Edward Tarbatt has completed a deal with the outdoor clothing retailer, which will see it take up a 10-year lease on 4,500sq ft unit on the former garden centre site in Nottingham

In 2017, Blue Diamond agreed a 35-year lease with Bridgford Garden Centre owner Edward Tarbatt, to operate the centre on completion of its redevelopment.  Since then, Edward Tarbatt has also redeveloped the old site that now comprises five retail units.

Retail and garden centre property consultants, Gilbert Evans negotiated the deal with Trespass on behalf of Mr Tarbatt. Director Mike Gilbert said: “There is strong interest in the remaining units that range from 3,500sq ft to 5,500sq ft. This is no surprise, given [that] the units provide an opportunity to trade alongside what many consider the most successful garden centre in the country.”

Mr Tarbatt added: “I am delighted with the interest shown in the new units. Now that the new A46 has opened, improving access to the site, we are speaking with a mix of national, regional and local operators who are all keen to be part of the site’s success story.”

Blue Diamond’s latest figures, published December 31, 2018 confirmed its Bridgford centre has been an outstanding success; producing nearly £10million of sales in just over nine months, and meeting its year five target already.
