Three trolleys full of alcohol were up for grabs at the Birmingham NEC during Glee this week, with representatives from the Greenfingers charity selling raffle tickets to exhibitors and visitors for their chance to win them.

The first winner, randomly picked on Monday by HTA president Carol Paris, was md of Pet Brands Sunny Sharma. Greenfingers' founder Richard Jackson randomly selected Brigg Garden Centre's Robert Stubbs for the second barrow, while Glee show director Nick Davison picked the third ticket belonging to Garland sales director Mark Dedman on Tuesday.

Greenfingers charity manager Sarah Lioveri said: "Our Barrows of Booze raffle was very successful and we are delighted that we have raised a total of £2,327.40. The money will be used to help us build magical gardens for children with life-limiting illnesses in children's hospices across the UK."

The raffle was sponsored by pottery distributors Woodlodge Products, who donated the alcohol and trolleys - even painting them pink especially for the event.

Woodlodge md Geoff Wooldridge said: "We are glad we could help support Greenfingers with its fundraising activities at Glee, it is an extremely worthy cause."

Ms Lioveri added: "Events such as Glee are hugely important to help spread the word about the work we do and raise some vital funds. We'd like to thank everyone that supported us by buying a ticket for the raffle."
