B&Q has made around 180 redundancies across its store management teams under restructuring plans across the business.
The DIY retailer has replaced the roles of senior stock manager and senior service manager with one combined role of deputy manager.

A B&Q spokesperson said the changes were made to "meet a number of business needs including: having the best management structure in place to deliver the best service for our customers, and reducing the gap between management and the customer."

The new deputy manager role came into effect earlier this month, which was followed by a full consultation process with employees.

It's only been 10 months since B&Q cut 220 jobs at its head office in Hampshire in order to deliver a more "agile" service to its customers. The company said it was looking at offering "enhanced redundancy packages". At the same time, 100 new head office roles were created.
