B&Q Homefit endorsed by new Which? scheme

Published: 4 March 2015
B&Q Homefit is the first national installer and services provider to be endorsed by Which? Trusted Traders, a new scheme designed to give homeowners peace of mind by rigorously assessing traders.

The 1,000 installation and service businesses contracted to B&Q Homefit have been assessed using the strict criteria implemented by Which? Trusted Traders, and any new Homefit traders will be subject to the same evaluation.

"We want to ensure that B&Q offers services that people can trust. We know that there are thousands of excellent tradesmen in the UK," said Homefit's Billy Quinn. "The problem is that people don't know how to find them. The endorsement by Which? Trusted Traders means all current and future installation businesses that fit on behalf of B&Q will undergo a full assessment by Which? Trusted Traders, including face to face interviews, financial and business checks - Which? also speak to customers directly to confirm the business's working practises stand up to scrutiny, so customers can have peace of mind that they are in safe hands."

Operational for over 25 years, B&Q Homefit is the largest domestic installer in the UK. It offers a five-year workmanship guarantee across kitchens, bedrooms and bathrooms. Other services include made-to-measure windows, doors, plumbing, heating and painting and decorating.

It just goes to show you not to trust everything Which say. I work for a rival comp to B&Q and things do go wrong but the point is in how you sort them out. If ordering missing or broken parts not more than 8 weeks usually 3 to 4 weeks is possible. As for more than 6 months- they are not interested - had the money and not bothered.

I am complaining to Which? About bandq. They have made my life a missery. My kitchen is still not complete. An absolute joke

I cannot beleive which have endorsed the homefit service. We have had nothing but trouble with them. We have been left with an induction hob that is crooked because they either did not measure and cut the quartz worktop correctly or didn't plaster the walls properly.
