Among the latest group of fundraisers, BHETA housewares director Will Jones finally achieved his charity parachute jump on Saturday, raising £1,205 for the Rainy Day Trust.
Along with a host of other members of the housewares and DIY industries he put his name down for the feat in order to raise funds for the Rainy Day Trust.

However, bad weather in September meant that some jumps, Will's included, had to be postponed. No doubt the weeks of extra waiting ramped up the jitters for some participants, but Will was not going to be deterred.

"I completed the RDT parachute jump on Saturday and have to say categorically and in public that I will not be repeating the exercise!" he told sister website HousewaresLive.net yesterday.

"However, it was a great experience and I wanted to thank all those who so generously sponsored me and to the organisers for making this an unforgettable day."

The total raised so far by Will for our industry charity is a target-busting £1,205.

Other industry figures who jumped last week include Akzo Nobel European md Richard Stuckes, Honeywell's Jason Burns, Valspar Europe's Russ Morris, Visqueen Building Products Rachael Barton and Chaucars' Barry Chaveau.
