According to reports, Terra Firma founder and chairman Guy Hands has hired Goldman Sachs to draft a bid for Dobbies Garden Centres.
As reported by Sky News, Mr Hands has apparently proposed a £175m bid in the last few days. It comes following several attempts by Mr Hands to acquire the chain.

The bid comes just weeks after Tesco was rumoured to have put the garden centre chain up for sale, following a significant loss last year. Should Mr Hands' bid be successful, Wyevale and Dobbies will have 175 outlets over the country.
