Wyevale acquires Woodcote Green Garden Centre
Woodcote Green is a privately owned business that has developed a reputation for excellence in garden products retailing and customer service; both of which WGC plans to maintain and enhance in the future.

In 2015, Woodcote Green was awarded the Best Retail Outlet of the Year at the Garden Retail Awards and was also recognised for its commitment to employee development. WGC said that it intends to work closely with the existing Woodcote Green Garden Centre team on the development plans for the future of the centre.

WGC chief executive Kevin Bradshaw said: "I am delighted to extend a warm welcome to all our new colleagues at Woodcote Green Garden Centre. I would like to take this opportunity to emphasise that, moving forward, it is very much business as usual at Woodcote Green. We will take time to learn from all of our new colleagues and plan the next exciting phase in Woodcote Green's history.

"In this regard, we are extremely pleased that our colleagues and senior management team will be staying and are committed to helping us plan the centre's development. We will work hard to retain the legacy and heritage of this unique site, which has significant roots and has served its community for almost 60 years. It will help to strengthen our national presence and will reinforce our position of providing the 'very best of local and national' in garden centre retailing."

Chris Milan of Woodcote Green Garden Centre said: "WGC's commitment to investing in its people and providing excellent quality of service and products makes me optimistic that the group will serve our community with the same heart and passion that our team has had for decades. Their pledge to conserve our diverse offering, to work closely with our management team and their promise to invest in the centre in the coming years, leaves me confident about the future of Woodcote Green."

Sorry for the staff, they will no longer be treated as special, their wages will be cut to bring it in line with "corporate wage structure ", you will get some overpaid new manager who will spot on about "taking it to the next level ", or getting things "bang on trend ", and all the other corporate garbage big companies spout to cover their own lack of knowledge. So sad to see another another quality gc swallowed by a multiple.

what an absolute shame another great garden centre
swallowed by greedy equity head hunters, say goodbye to quality and price and experienced staff, say hello to a poorly run kindergarten
and remember When You Expect Value Always Look Elsewhere

What a pity this spells the end of lovely Woodcote. Have been going there for over 20 years and watched it grow into a great garden centre. All the Wyevale centres I've been in have seemed dull with rubbish plants. Enjoy your retirement
Chris you worked so hard over the years.

It's such bad news. We go there every week and it's a great garden Centre. It will now be ruined by wyvale judging by all their other centres

Having used Woodcote for years because we are local and having been in quite a few Wyvales over the years, I am sure it will soon become another bland Wyevale.
