Woman will stand trial over £55k garden centre theft

Published: 22 May 2013
A woman is due to stand trial after being charged with the theft of a large sum of money from Chepstow Garden Centre.
Sixty-six-year-old Christine Hill appeared at Cardiff Crown Court this week but denies stealing £55,033 from the family-run garden centre, allegedly between September 2008 and May 2011. Her next appearance in court will be on July 17 when the trial date will be set.

Hill, of Home Farm Court, Shirenewton, Monmouthshire, also faced a second charge and admitted fraud to the value of £16,090 between February 2008 and August 2012 as bookkeeper of Home Farm Court Management Company.
