Ned Yates Garden Centre in Moor Lane, Wilmslow, will close as owner Trevor Jacques and his son concentrate on growing their landscape gardening business.
Jacques Landscapes will continue to operate from the site, but Ned Yates Garden Centre and Seedhouse Restaurant will cease trading.

In a statement on Ned Yates' website, owner and director, Trevor Jacques said: "The landscaping side of our business is growing substantially and we are widely acknowledged as one of the leading providers in the North West. There is the need and desire to expand this offering whilst continuing to consistently deliver work of the highest standard, for which we are renowned. Therefore we have made the difficult decision to close Ned Yates Garden Centre.

"We want to thank all the loyal customers and friends who have visited us over the years. We will continue to offer horticultural advice and expertise as part of the Jacques Landscapes service."

The garden centre, which has been on the site since 1965, is currently holding stock clearance sales with special offers on all products.

Jacques Landscapes currently employs over 30 horticultural and landscaping experts. In recent months the business has seen a significant increase in demand from both domestic and commercial customers and is now looking to employ six new members of staff.
