Waterford Wedgwood sold

The administrators of Waterford Wedgwood UK have sold most of the UK and Irish assets of the businesses.

New York based KPS Capital Partners, a fund management firm, has bought certain assets of Waterford Wedgwood and several of its UK and Irish subsidiaries.

It's too early to say for certain what plans the group has for the Waterford Wedgwood, which was formed 250 years ago this year in 1759, but it would appear likely production will moved overseas and UK assets sold off.
