Upward sales trend continues at Screwfix

Fourth quarter results for Screwfix showed sales growth of 24.0% to £110 million in the 13 weeks ending February 2, 2008.

The company, which had a 2006/2007 turnover of more than £300m, has continued its UK Trade Counter initiative with an additional 13 outlets being opened during the quarter (100 opened as at end February, 2008).

John Colley, commercial Director at Screwfix, said: "We are delighted with these results which reflect the efforts that we have put into maintaining our upward growth trend.

"Our catalogue has expanded by 14% to 1,074 pages and, at more than 18,000 products, now includes 20% more products than last year."

Screwfix opened its 100th Trade Counter in Epsom at the end of February.
