Reality TV star Dan Osborne, best known for his appearances on The Only Way is Essex, will be testing his DIY skills against B&Q employees to celebrate the refurbishment of the B&Q Leyton store.

The day will also feature face painting, balloon modelling, stilt walkers and games for children to mark the occasion. Mr Osborne said he'll be preparing for the challenge by looking for tips on how to make repairs and improvements in his own home.

He said: "I’m really looking forward to helping celebrate the launch of the new B&Q Leyton store. I’m not sure that my DIY skills can beat the in store experts but it will be great to get some advice from them to make my own home improvement projects easier.”

B&Q Leyton unit manager Martin Foreman added: “We can’t wait to welcome customers to our revamped store and celebrate with a day of family fun.

“We’re ready to show off our new look to Leyton’s residents and inspire them to start a new home improvement project under the guidance of our expert advice.

“We’re all really looking forward to Saturday and, of course, putting Dan’s DIY skills to the test.”

The event will run from 11am to 4pm on Saturday, October 15.
