Award-winning Welsh comedian Rhod Gilbert has been confirmed as the guest compere at the 2008 Britain's Best Retailer Awards dinner in Manchester on Tuesday November 18.
Organised by DIY Week, diyweek.net, Hardware & Garden Review, Housewares Magazine and housewareslive.net, the awards are the UK's foremost event for the retail hardware, houseware, diy and garden trade.

Since winning a Perrier newcomer award at Edinburgh in 2005, Rhod Gilbert has become one of the country's most sought-after comedians. His dry, deadpan style and his recounting of his early days in the mythical Welsh village of Llanbobl went down a storm when he was a guest at the Industry Awards in 2007.

The Britain's Best Retailer Awards are open to all retailers in the diy, hardware, housewares and garden market.
