Tool Shop acquisition

Published: 18 February 2011
Vin Vara, owner of the nine-strong chain of Tool Shop and Houseware Centre stores in Central London, has acquired Trafalgar Lock & Key Ltd.
Tool Shop acquisition
The store was purchased from previous owner Mr Terence Roulland, along with the Trafalgar Lock & Key, and Trafalgar Lock & Safe brands. However, it will not retain its current name and will be rebranded The Locksmiths,

The acquisition takes the total number of stores to 10 in Central London and represents the next step in Mr Vara's expansion plans.

"The expansion is part of the medium-term plan to grow the business," he said. "We intend to position The Locksmiths brand as conveniently as possible around London - I have several locations already in mind for the next shop.

"Consumers in Central London need access to quality products and superior service and we can provide this for them."
