Tile Choice embarks on expansion plan after LfL sales climb 14%

Published: 24 May 2012
The Wolverhampton-based tiling chain has announced plans to expand its current range of 15 stores on the tail of a successful year of growth.
Tile Choice's marketing manager Lee Rudkin said the retailer was particularly keen to "present a positive business message to the rest of the UK" and push the Midlands into the forefront of economic recovery. He added: "All we tend to hear about in the news at the moment is how businesses of all sizes are struggling, or how the economy continues to decline.

"We're extremely passionate about changing that perception, particularly within the Midlands, and are actively working towards bringing business back into the local economy. As a company, we are working very hard to try and buck the negative trend within the retail sector and have seen some great results because of our dedication to making Tile Choice the market leader."

Tile Choice said its recent sales growth was "down to an excellent customer service strategy coupled with a well-targeted marketing plan." The company also recently celebrated an award for Excellence in Multiple Retailing from The Tile Association.

Mr Rudkin added: "By making careful investments in a bespoke management system, new products, in store displays and staff training, we aim to drive customers into stores and engage in a more personal shopping experience.

"As all good retailers know, trade attracts trade and by moving people away from online shopping and back into our shops, we are able to grow our network of stores and therefore bring more business to the surrounding local shopping areas. We also aim to continually drive our brand awareness, as being in such a competitive industry, it is vital we sta at the forefront of our customer's minds, for the right reasons.

"We're extremely proud to be recognised by the TTA for the work our dedicated team have put in to making our business such a success, which in turn has allowed us to continue to expand the company throughout the Midlands and beyond."

The next new stores are due to launch in Kettering and Corby by the end of the month. Both locations were chosen to engage the high footfall and passing traffic in the area.
