According to reports, the boy suffered "severe" pelvis, chest and abdomen injuries. He was treated at the scene by paramedics before being flown to James Cook University Hospital in Middlesbrough.

His condition has been described as stable, and Durham police said that an investigation had been passed onto Health and Safety inspectors.

Frank's has since released a statement saying: "Our Our thoughts are with the child and their family and our staff our shocked and concerned by this accident.
"We would also like to thank the emergency services for their speedy response.
"Our absolute main concern is with the wellbeing of the child and, when the time is right, we will make the HSE fully-aware of the details of the accident."
