Thieves raid three garden centres

Published: 11 December 2007
Three garden centres – in Brigg, North Lincolnshire, Swansea, Wales, and Calderdale, Halifax – have been hit by thieves in the last week.
At Brigg Garden Centre, thieves used heavy-duty equipment to break in before stealing hundreds of pounds worth of equipment.

While at Newbank Garden Centre, in Calderdale, gates were forced open overnight. Damage to the centre meant it was closed yesterday morning.

However, the most alarming theft took place in Swansea on Sunday evening where two masked armed robbers held staff at gunpoint at Wyevale garden centre before making off with takings from a safe.

In all cases, police are asking for help with the incidents.
