The Range to open new store in Plymouth

Published: 19 December 2014
After much speculation The Range has confirmed that they will be opening a new store in Plymouth in early 2015.
The location in Peverell, which was occupied by Homebase has now been handed over to The Range and work has started on the refurbishment which will include a coffee shop along with 16 departments including housewares, DIY, furniture and arts & crafts.

The new store in Peverell will create around 80 new jobs for Plymouth. The retailer currently employs over 500 staff in Plymouth with its head office currently based in Estover. The Range's first superstore on Billacombe Road, Plymstock opened 25 years ago and has just had planning permission confirmed to undergo a complete facelift and extension.

The company is also preparing to expand its head office with a UK training academy which will cover England, Scotland, Wales and Ireland and bring even more jobs to Plymouth, along with a state-of-the-art flagship store in Derriford as part of a £15m investment at the proposed new district centre.

Owner Chris Dawson commented: "It's great that we are going to be opening our second store in Plymouth so quickly and it's great to have another store in our home town. By the time you are reading this we will have reached our 100th store which is a great achievement"
