Takeover strengthens Ostendorf's hold on European paint market
Renaulac, with its eponymous paint brand, is the oldest paint producer in France and well known within the French DIY and professional markets. It employs 125 people and produces 30m litres of paint a year, turning over around 50m Euros.

JW Ostendorf, headquartered in Coesfeld, Germany, supplies DIY stores, specialist retailers and industry in 20 European countries, and is one of the 10 largest producers of decorative paint in the world. It says it is aiming to be outright leader in Europe within decorative and technical coatings.

The takeover will give JW Ostendorf access to Renaulac customers inside and outside France. It says it will integrate the French firm into its European business and further develop the brand in France and abroad. Renaulac managing director Philippe Bonnarme will remain as CEO.
