Stax is on the move

Over £11m to be invested in new Manchester site
Wholesaler Stax Trade Centres has announced that it is to expand its Manchester operation with a move to a bigger, more impressive depot.

According to Stax chairman Eddie Brady, the company has been looking for a suitable site to build a "brand new state-of-the-art warehouse" for the past year.

Completion of the sale took place last week and the wholesaler hopes to move to its new premises by the summer of 2009.

At over 100,000 sq ft, the purpose-built depot will be almost double the size of the existing branch and will take pride of place as the largest of the four Stax sites.

Conveniently, the new branch is situated opposite the existing Stax site, meaning minimal disruption for customers and staff as a result of the move.

Mr Brady explains: "Location has always been a key factor when considering new branches as it is essential they are close to the motorway network. Obviously this location is ideal and the transfer from the current location to the new will be much easier than if it was in an entirely different area."
