Squire's first-ever garden centre, in Twickenham, is celebrating half a century in business this month.
Squire's trailblazing garden centre is 50 years old
The company's chairman, Colin Squire, acquired the site back in the 1960s to create the new garden centre, before which the business had been focused on growing and landscape gardening.

Today, the Twickenham garden centre has annual sales of almost £7m and is one of a chain of 15 turning over £30.6m in total. The latest addition was Secretts Garden Centre in Milford, Surrey, which was acquired at the end of last year.

The Twickenham business has been newly refurbished and claims to have the best selection of trees, shrubs and garden plants in south west London. The garden centre also has a café bar with a refurbished and bigger seating area.
