Speedy to supply Severn Trent Water

Published: 16 January 2009
Speedy Tools has signed a one-year agreement - with an option to extend for a further four years - to supply Severn Trent Water with generators.

Severn Trent Water, the world's fourth largest privately owned water-company, serves more than million customers from the Bristol Channel to the Humber and from mid-Wales to the East Midlands.

The equipment will be used for emergencies and repairs in the Midlands and Mid-Wales areas.

The deal moves Speedy away from their traditional market and shows the firm is keen to exploit new revenue sources this year.

Speedy's national account manager, Paul Spooner, said: "This is an important contract for us - it's the first sole supplier agreement with a water company and reinforces our commitment to expand beyond our traditional construction customer base."
