The move follows the launch last month of four trial stores in Germany, and the announcement of plans to open over 50 more stores in the UK next year. Kingfisher-owned Screwfix already has over 350 UK outlets.

Screwfix.ie will give tradespeople and DIY enthusiasts in Ireland access to over 15,000 products, backed by a 30-day money-back guarantee, free returns and free delivery on all orders worth over €75, which can be sent to home or site within two to three working days.

Screwfix's main website, Screwfix.com, attracts 1.5m visitors a week.
