Screwfix celebrates 200th store milestone

Published: 26 January 2012
The multi-channel trade supplier is celebrating the launch of its 200th store today at Heathrow.
It's a fitting location for Screwfix, which is on track to have 50 stores inside the M25 by the end of January 2012, creating almost 400 jobs in the process. The expansion is hoped to make the brand more accessible for busy tradesmen on the move around and inside the M25.

Screwfix says the new launch marks its considerable national network, which has grown significantly since the brand's launch six years ago.

Screwfix CEO Steve Willett said: "This is another fantastic milestone for Screwfix. Our national network is thriving and we're especially pleased to bolster our presence around the capital.

"This geographical expansion and the development of our 'Click, Collect and Go' service, which enables customers to check that the products they require are in stock, online or on their mobile, and then collect just 15 minutes later from their local branch. [It's] helping us get physically closer to more customers, as well as providing an overall more convenient service for them."

The Screwfix catalogue offers more than 18,000 products to tradesmen across the UK via telephone, online and in-store orders.
