Essential reading for retailers and suppliers in the home improvement market

Record total for charity sale

Published: 20 July 2011
The Faversham House Group charity sale on July 1, organised by DIY Week and Housewares Magazine, was the biggest yet.
Record total for charity sale
Takings hit a new record: a staggering £2,421.75. All funds raised will go to industry charity the Rainy Day Trust.

Products came from scores of suppliers across the hardware, housewares, DIY and garden market. Some had been donated to the charity sale after being entered for this year's Product of the Year Awards, and some were donated by exhibitors at the Totally DIY exhibition in February.

"When we started unpacking for the sale, we rapidly got to the stage where we had to start putting stuff away again," said DIY Week and Housewares publisher Colin Petty - who is also the current Rainy Day Trust president. "There was no way we were going to be able to fit everything into the Faversham House boardroom."

The company is now planning a follow-up sale on the evening of Monday August 1.
