Rainy Day Trust bags £7,000 from shoot

The Rainy Day Trust has benefited from the lion's share of over £7,000 raised at the annual clay pigeon shoot held at the Royal Berkshire shooting school last month.

Over 80 of the industry's leading names attended the DIY and housewares industry charity's event, including representatives from Screwfix, Homebase, Stax, Decco, Toolbank, Bira, Charles Dickens, Maxwells DIY, O'Neils Decorating Centres and Price & Co, plus many guests from the supply chain.

Top Retailer was Richard Johnson of Homebase, while Top Overall Gun once again went to David Sadler from Price & Co. Ann Quike of QEP - Vitrex Homelux won the ladies' competition, and in the Novice category Guy Welford of Screwfix was awarded a bottle of bubbly.

Event sponsors include Crown Paints, Tembe DIY, CWV (Crown Wallcoverings, Coloroll, Vymura), Swish, Yale, Cartell and divisions of QEP (Vitrex and Homelux).

Next year's event will take place Thursday July 3.
