Over 150 Top Brands Attend Stax Supplier Conference

The highlight of the conference was the announcement that a brand new 80,000 sq ft Stax branch will be opening just outside Glasgow as the wholesaler looks to strengthen their market position north of the border.
Representatives from industry heavyweights such as The Scotts Miracle-Gro Company, Akzo Nobel, PPG and DeWalt were amongst the delegates who attended the event for an update on the latest developments at the UK's leading non-food wholesaler.
Guests were given a presentation on the changing retail landscape since Stax opened its modern Manchester headquarters in 2009, covering a period that has seen consumer buying behavior change exponentially, with the development of technology, internet use and social media.
The presentation then moved on to how Stax as a business has adapted to the changing trading conditions through continued investment in existing branches, the development of the sales force, delivered wholesale operations of the business.
Stax Joint Managing Director David Hibbert commented,
"This years supplier conference was a great success. From the start we have always had a close relationship with our suppliers and have grown our businesses together over the past 30+ years. Today was about letting our suppliers know how Stax has adapted to meet the demands of a changing marketplace and to outline our plans for the future."
The influence of technology has also become much more prevalent in modern day business, a fact that was highlighted by the performance of the Stax website which has had over £1,000,000 invested and now attracts over 130,000 visitors per month, with further plans to unveil a new mobile optimised web platform in September of this year.
Stax Purchasing Director Simon Wright concluded,
