Last weekend the UK finally gained a taste of proper summer, with the temperatures scorching at 32 degrees Celsius in some areas, making it the hottest weekend of the year. But did this give the tail-end of the season a much needed boost? Or were shop floors abandoned as Britons headed to the beach?
