Department store Philip Morris & Son in Hereford has been named the West Midlands Chamber of Commerce Business of the Year 2010.
Following on from winning the Hereford and Worcester Chamber of Commerce Growth Business of the Year Award 2010, the business won the top prize at the regional awards and is now hoping to be named Chamber of Commerce Business of the Year at the national awards next week.

Speaking to DIY Week, Bunty Jones, whose sons John and Bruce now run the store, said: "The West Midlands region is a much larger region than we expected, and to have beaten companies of a much bigger size is just great for all the staff. We have done quite a few things this year, which has helped us. We've launched a clothing catalogue and a few different things like that... It was great to win when we didn't really have any expectations."

The family-owned business is now looking forward to the national awards in London on November 25.

Philip Morris & Son were also Silver winners at Britain's Best Retailer Awards 2010 in Manchester last week.
