A kitchen supplier has been taken to task by the ad watchdog for failing to say on its website where the company is located.
Text on the home page of www.solidwoodkitchen.co.uk stated 'Call today on 01512 032 895', and the name of the supplier was given at the bottom in the line '©2012 Solid Wood Kitchens'.

However, someone complained to the Advertising Standards Authority about the website. The CAP (Committee of Advertising Practice) Code states that marketing communications which quote prices for products should include the identity and geographical address of the marketer - and www.solidwoodkitchen.co.uk did neither.

The ASA therefore decided that it breached the code, and told Solid Wood Kitchens that it should change the website. However, it appears not to have done so, with no company address still not being provided.

Solid Wood Kitchens is, in fact, based at 715 Market Street, Whitworth, Rochdale, Lancashire OL12 8LB.

The ASA also said it was concerned by Solid Wood Kitchens' lack of response to its enquiries and apparent disregard for the code, and said the company should respond promptly in future.
