Big winners at GIMA Awards

Annual GIMA Awards dinner celebrates the great and good of the garden industry, with Scotts Miracle Gro bagging five awards on the night.

Held at the Radisson hotel, Heathrow last night, the GIMA Awards boasted 350 guests across the industry, from retail buyers and garden centre owners, to suppliers and trade association heads. Entertainment was provided by Scottish comedian and radio presenter Fred MacAuley, who also announced the award winners on the night.

Scotts Miracle Gro had a great night, taking home five awards, including the GIMA Sword of Excellence.

The Hillview Group's Boyd Douglas-Davies also paid tribute to those who got involved with Garden Re-Leaf day and revealed that a massive £52,431 was raised for charity through activities organised by the industry. Mr Douglas-Davies hailed the event as a success and his question of 'will we do it again?' was met by a definitive 'yes' from the audience. However, he added that "it will only make a difference if we all get involved".
