Sandtex TV campaign revisits the lighthouseSandtex is running a TV campaign for the first time in 20 years with a reworking of a classic ad for its masonry paint.
The new ad - the original version of which received much acclaim from trade and consumer audiences - shows a lighthouse keeper struggling against the elements over time, while his lighthouse's paint finish remains immaculate.
It was filmed at one of the UK's most challenging monuments, Norfolk's historic Happisburgh lighthouse.
The campaign runs from July 19 to mid-August on a wide range of news, sport, documentary, lifestyle and entertainment channels, and can be seen at www.sandtex50yearsprotection.co.uk
"The advert carries a strong message about the brand's renowned durability, visually demonstrated through the lighthouse, which is protected with Sandtex masonry paint," said Sandtex specialities marketing manager Julie Olsson.
"As the finish lasts through the seasons and through the years, it shows how the paint has stood the test of time, unlike the lighthouse keeper!
Happisburgh Lighthouse was painted in 2009 with Sandtex Trade premium products. Three years on, Patrick Tubby, chairman of the Happisburgh Lighthouse Trust, says the structure has never looked in better shape.
