Manufacturing is child's play at What More
Learning about plastics and how they are moulded into household products was brought to life recently for a party of 27 school children who visited What More UK's Lancashire factory.

The pupils, from the local Read St John CE Primary School, were invited to tour the plant and watch the hi-tech robotic machinery heat up raw materials with colouring agents. They saw how they are then pushed into a mould with the finished item coming off the production line.

"Our pupils have been learning about the different types of plastic in their science lessons, but it's great for them to actually see it happening," said class teacher Mrs Casson. "They really appreciated being allowed into a real working factory and enjoyed the visit enormously."

All the children were given their own high-visibility jackets for the visit and temporary ID cards. Each was also presented with some products, an activity pack and some stickers featuring company mascot Corky.

Established in 1999, What More UK is now the UK's largest manufacturer of plastic housewares, gardening and storage products, under its Wham brand name.
