Liverpool Dobbies open for business despite blaze
Dobbies Garden World in Liverpool is open for business as usual despite a fire breaking out on the premises in the early hours of yesterday.
Part of the Liverpool outlet's car park was closed yesterday
Firefighters were called out shortly after 3am to tackle the blaze, emanating from a gas main, and spent several hours on the premises at Speke Hall Avenue. They brought the fire under control and the main garden centre was unharmed but part of the nearby Speke Boulevard was closed.
A spokesperson for Dobbies told DIY Week: "The fire was at the rear of the car park, far enough away from the garden centre for it not to be affected. Part of the car park was closed off yesterday but there was no damage to the centre and it's trading as normal."
