New garden centre planned for shopping village
A new garden centre is to be created within an outlet shopping centre in West Yorkshire.
Junction 32 Outlet Shopping Village has 3.1m visitors a year
The garden centre, within the Junction 32 Outlet Shopping Village in Castleford, will have 5,000sq m of indoor selling area plus plant sales space outside. The lease will be available in spring 2014.
The new business is being marketed by garden centre property consultants Gilbert Evans, who said 65% of shoppers currently using Junction 32 are ABC1, "the core market for garden centres."
Realm Asset Managers development director Dan Mason said: "This is a very exciting opportunity. There is a big demand in the area for a garden centre and this will complement and increase the scheme's 3.1 million annual visitors."
Junction 32 has 90 shops and cafes and promises up to 60% off brands through retailers including Marks & Spencer, Monsoon, Reebok, Le Creuset and Tefal. It has an annual footfall of 3.1m and 1,400 free car parking spaces, and sits alongside a leisure complex.
