A new play area, tried and tested by the grandchildren of the garden centre's Bent family owners, is the latest stage in the multi-million pound 'Bents the future' plans for the business.

Bosses at the business said it's all part of transforming the business from a place to shop to a "complete experience."

The £10m project will see new developments rolled out over the next five to ten years, with the aim of making Bents the biggest contender in the North West's garden, home and leisure market.

The playground includes a variety of fun activities from climbing walls to adventure towers all professionally landscaped and designed to encourage children to enjoy nature and the great outdoors. Its positioning next to the outdoor decking area allows Bents' customers to keep an eye on their children while using the café.

Groundwork for a new service yard and road is currently underway at the business and more work is planned for a new roundabout and car park. A spokesperson for Bents said: "The new infrastructure work is designed to accommodate the future phases to transform the existing garden centre.

"Bents aims to create a larger contemporary retail space, with a two storey high glazed atrium with escalators leading up to 3,800 metre sq. of retail, leisure and educational space."
