Homebase launches Facebook app
The home improvement retailer has claimed its new app is the first of its kind within the sector, incorporating three different stages to guide users through a home DIY project.
Users can start a home project by logging onto the retailer's Facebook page
These include an 'inspiration' stage where users select the room they're decorating, a colour theme and products. Next an 'expert tool' displays more than 140 'how to' videos covering wallpapering, painting, tiling, flooring, DIY and gardening. Customers can ask questions and have them stored in the app's FAQ database for future users.
Lastly customers are encouraged to share their success by uploading before and after pictures and talking about how they completed the job. Participating users can currently be entered into a prize draw for £1500 to spend on Crown paint for interiors and exteriors, a colour consultant and decorator.
Homebase social marketing manager Jenny Wright said: "Research tells us that around 59% of our customers are looking for ideas for the home when they shop with us. So this app really ignites the ideas, inspiration and enthusiasm to help customers achieve the look and feel in their home and garden that they want."
