This will see it launch £32m worth of flooring products, whilst new trend-led décor rangers will also be introduced to the tune of £18m. Following up on the retailer's decision earlier this season to focus more on the female customer, the range will include fashion-driven styles.

From mid May each B&Q store will receive a new in-store tile shop, representing a capital investment of around £10m from the £19m, a move which will see 80% of the previous range change. From wall tiles to floor tiles both indoor and outdoor, more than 500 tile ranges will be available and arranged in four style houses so the user can mix and match key looks in the home. The ranges are also part of Kingfisher's group sourcing strategy, with around 35% of the new tiling range common across the group, which includes Europe-wide business Castorama.

From July onwards the décor departments in every store will receive a make over. New design stories offering everything from cushions to curtains, lighting, wallpaper and rugs will land in store. Merchandised in four style houses, B&Q's design team have done the styling to "make it easier for customers to put their interior looks together." 15% of the range is group sourced across Kingfisher.

Later in August, new soft and hard flooring ranges will start to land in store. A 100% new real wood flooring range, parquet-look contemporary styles, extra long planks, seamless looks and easy to fit ranges are just a few of the features customers will start to see from the end of August. Sixty four new hard wood flooring products in whites, greys, naturals and dark wood in line with the latest trends will sit alongside 69 affordable and easy to fit new laminate ranges making it easier than ever to transform a room. Over forty percent of the flooring range will be group sourced.

B&Q UK and Ireland ceo Martyn Phillips said: "These new ranges within our Colours brand are a real move on for B&Q and will give customers the latest in style and quality at affordable prices. Customers from Penzance to Perth can buy products in B&Q knowing they are as stylish as those sold in our sister stores in Paris - globally sourced yet tailored to local trends and at the best possible prices."
