Discount retail giant Poundworld is launching a new wholesale website this week, selling a variety of cheap products including DIY tools, home improvement accessories and garden products to retailers.


Named discount-wholesale.co.uk, the site claims to offer the UK's cheapest prices on goods which it says will "help Britain's market traders, ebay sellers, independent and small retailers succeed in their business ventures." Its product numbers 2,000 and ranges from cleaning to pet care.

Brands include Edwards, Home Essentials, Outdoor Essentials and Perfect Garden.

E-commerce manager Helen Todd said: "We're really delighted to be launching our new discount wholesale site and we expect to see a great response. As a family-owned retailer, we are able to use our personal experience to really understand the needs of the independent and to help them succeed in this tough economic climate.

"With over 180 retail stores UK wide, we are also in the favourable position to pass on incredible savings on the best-selling lines - making us the cheapest importer and distributor of discount goods.

"We are taking the traditional cash and carry concept but adapting it to be accessible to all with our easy to navigate site and delivery available across the UK and Europe. We also have a showroom in Normanton, Wakefield, for those who would prefer to visit us in person."
