Gardman Holdings director steps down
The non-executive chairman and director of Gardman Holdings Terry Stannard has announced his resignation from the board. He will be replaced by Jonathan Halford as non-executive director of Gardman Holdings.Mr Stannard explained his decision: "I have very much enjoyed my time with Gardman and have been pleased to oversee the finalisation of plans for the next stage of the company's development. As the execution of the plans will require a greater time commitment than I can provide, I have decided that it is the right time to step down. I wish Mark and his talented team all the very best for a highly successful future."
Gardman CEO Mark Pearson added: "We've all enjoyed having Terry on the Board. He's been a great support to Gardman since its change of ownership in 2007 and has helped the business transform its commercial approach to meet the challenges of a changing world.
"To ensure that we maintain strong independent advice at board level, we are delighted to announce the appointment of Jonathan Halford as non-executive director of Gardman Holdings. Jonathan's wide non-executive experience and his knowledge of the UK gardening industry gained through his former executive and now chairmanship roles at Forest Garden will be of great benefit to our business."
Mr Halford said he is looking forward to his new responsibilities. "I believe that Gardman is on the right road to strengthen its already leading position in the garden industry. The company has many great assets including its innovative approach to NPD, category development and service to its retail partners, and I very much look forward to joining Mark and the team."
